About this Collection:
Bridges play the important roles in the transportation network. Severe damage of bridges in earthquake will cause the long-term interruption of transportation, which not only brings direct economic losses, but also seriously affects post-earthquake rescue and reconstruction. In order to cope with the huge challenge of earthquakes to the safety and normal function of bridge structures and improve the anti-earthquake capability of transportation infrastructure, it is necessary to extensively understand the characteristics of ground motions, the nonlinear seismic response, and damage evolution mechanisms of bridges under earthquakes, and propose the advanced anti-seismic technologies. According to the above urgent needs, this special issue is established and jointly organized by Key Laboratory of Seismic Engineering Technology of Sichuan Province.
