A thematic series in Cell Regeneration.

Adult stem/progenitor cells hold transformative promise for regenerative medicine. Recent discoveries unveiled elaborate regulations of stem/progenitor lineages in many adult organs, such as the dynamic proliferative hierarchies and unexpected cellular origins of somatic dedifferentiation. This thematic series in Cell Regeneration aims to capture the latest advancements and future directions in this exciting field.

Topics of interest include:

  • Heterogeneity and clonal evolution of the stem/progenitor population
  • Niche regulation of adult stem/progenitor cells
  • Maintenance of stem/progenitor repertoire and hierarchy
  • Comparative analyses of stem/progenitor populations of distinct origins
  • Signaling pathways and epigenetic control of stem/progenitor fates
